It's time for us to put our hard hats on and get down to business! 👷♂️👷♀️ Freyssinet has recently been awarded THREE prestigious projects across the United States, showcasing our expertise in #TransportationInfrastructure. They are uniquely challenging, and we are looking forward to bringing our long-standing expertise to each of them. 🛣 1) VDOT K43: Situated on RT 33 in West Point, VA, this project involves the replacement of the shoulder bridge joints on the bascule spans, installation of a new stainless steel bridge drainage system, and a floor leveling modification in the supporting structure. With completion expected in early summer, we're eager to successfully strengthen this critical transportation route. 🛫 2) IAD Viaduct Rehabilitation: At Dulles International Airport, our team will undertake the challenging task of repairing the deck, joints, and trench drains for the arrival and departure decks. This night work project poses unique phasing challenges, but we're prepared to overcome them to provide our client with the best product. 🌉 3) Louisiana US190 – US61 Overpass Interchange Repairs: In the East Baton Rouge Parish, our work involves Carbon Fiber reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthening of girders, bearing replacement, concrete repairs, and structural painting. We're set to install 4,226 SF of CFRP and replace 85 bearings during the 2024 construction season. Creating a stronger foundation for tomorrow, one bridge at a time. ✨ We're thrilled to share an update on the progress of our #RehabilitationProject on the Jesús Izcoa Moure Bridge, also known as the Puente Atirantado de Naranjito, connecting the vibrant cities of Toa Alta & Naranjito in Puerto Rico. 🌉 With dedication and precision, we're replacing the structure’s lower anchorage caps, conducting fillet welding, microcrystalline wax injection, elastomeric wrapping, and neoprene boot replacement on the bridge’s 96 #StayCables, ensuring longevity and safety for all commuters. Our meticulous attention also extends to smaller works like bearing resetting & PT inspection/vacuum grouting, further enhancing the bridge's structural integrity. This monumental undertaking wouldn't be possible without the collaborative efforts of our esteemed colleagues: Freyssinet de México S.A. de C.V. and Fressinet Spain’s technical team. We’re excited to see who will conquer the course this week during the #MastersTournament! 🏌️⛳ Just a few years ago, Freyssinet was involved in a complex project at the Augusta National Golf Club, which hosts the event annually. What made this a truly remarkable project? 🏗 For starters, it encompassed sliding a 120-foot-long concrete tunnel underneath Washington Road to a new state-of-the-art television and digital compound on the golf course. This modern #Engineering method allowed the road to stay open without impacting traffic, which averages about 25,000 vehicles per day, and exceeds 55,000 during the annual Masters Tournament. Our scope of work consisted of implementing a #JackingPlan, designing and assembling a hydraulic plumbing network, supplying specialty material, and sizing/leasing/operating the jacking equipment. Freyssinet specialists also offered onsite supervision and related technical services for the sliding equipment installation and operations. Over an 8-day period, hydraulic jacks pulled the precast concrete box, which was built on a launching slab, under the road against an anchor wall on the other side of the roadway. A steel jacking nose was installed on the leading edge of the tunnel to facilitate the tunnel’s movement. Excavators cleared the soil progressively to allow for the structure’s advancement while a conveyor belt deposited the soil behind the moving structure. We’re proud of our role in enhancing the golf club’s infrastructure and will be tuning in to watch the triumphs that lie ahead at the Masters Tournament! We would like to share a quick glimpse into Freyssinet’s recent achievements at the groundbreaking Amazon headquarters project in Arlington County. 🏗️✨ The initial phase of the headquarters involves the construction of two office buildings, Metropolitan Park 6 & 7/8, boasting a total of 2 million sq. ft. Alongside 67,000 sq. ft. of ground floor retail space, these structures are set to redefine the skyline of the community. When faced with challenges such as reinforcement issues in core holes at one of the buildings, our dedicated team at Freyssinet stepped in to ensure the project's success. With Freyssient’s specially designed Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FOREVA®TFC-1100), we provided innovative solutions and developed an #EngineeringDesign to restore some of the lost strength and prevent slab cracking, ensuring structural integrity and longevity. That’s not all! Amidst tight schedules, our team executed the reinforcement process within a single day, minimizing disruptions to keep the project on track. ⭐️ It’s time to meet the driving force behind our South Atlantic Office and this quarter’s #EmployeeSpotlight: Robert Steele. ⭐️ He has had a long history within our organization, starting his career with the Freyssinet Group in the Southern and Eastern Africa division in 2012. Nine years later, he joined Freyssinet USA as an #OperationsManager. His role involves overseeing and executing all our repair projects along the South Atlantic region (Southern Virginia to South Carolina). Robert has been nominated and praised by his colleagues for always demonstrating a high-quality work performance and unwavering dedication to his team, especially during challenging moments. ✨ Fun Facts About Robert ✨ ⚒ What do you like to do in your free time?
