A great founding father.

Interesting to learn about our founding fathers. Benjamin Franklin was a very talented man. I appreciate the fact that he was the first to created bifocals (which I wear today), and discover electricity, (which I use every day); as well as being a diplomat and co-author of the USA Constitution, with the foresight of knowing there would be changes to the constitution in the futurey (all worked out within the document), written about 300 years ago. I don't know anyone today that could come even close to what Benjamin Franklin was able to do.
Benjamin Franklin was a complex person who seemed simple

This book caught my eye shortly after I read an article that mentioned Benjamin Franklin's many facets. He wasn't just a shaggy-haired, chubby fellow who helped get the USA started. Franklin was extremely intelligent, had very broad interests and vocations, and was rather racy. He fathered an illegitimate son, who fathered an illegitimate son. Although he often maintained a placid facade, Franklin had strong feelings about people and beliefs that guided his decisions, including those made while working on behalf of the colonies
A comprehensive biography of an interesting character!

This is a fascinating biography of one of America’s most influential founding fathers. Although thorough and a long read, I'd say it's still very approachable.

Anything Walter Isaacson writes is enthralling, and Benjamin Franklin is no exception.
