[knocking]

Oh, hey, hey, I'm just going pee.

Gimme a second.

Hi everyone, I'm Chris Pine.

I'm getting ready for the Emmys.

James Marsden, come on in.

Hands are clean, hands are clean.

[gentle music]

I guess you guys are gonna watch me get all,

get all, get all ready today.

I'm not sure I want to give away my secrets.

Sorry, I'm just looking at photos from this past week.

Oh, that's a good one.

I'm gonna post that one.

Sorry.

How am I feeling today?

Feeling pretty good.

It's, it feels like it's the last leg of the race

coming down to the Emmys,

which is the big one for me, I think.

Yeah, pretending like the nerves aren't there,

doesn't always work but, but I'm good.

I usually try and stick with the healthy stuff, you know,

I get a little exercise in and thank you.

There we go.

You know, water, some oatmeal, go for a walk, sleep.

You know, you just wanna be fresh on the day.

You want to have your wits about you.

So I just wanna be as clear as possible.

I don't want anything kind of clouding,

clouding my thoughts.

I mean honestly, pre-show rituals,

I feel like it's always a good idea

to just do something normal.

Like go to the grocery store and get some milk.

Pick the dog up from grooming,

just to remind yourself that it's like, you know,

get your mind off of everything.

The nerves don't really kick in until you get there

and you see everybody.

Keep it clean.

Stay hydrated.

Have a good time.

[gentle music]

Well, I didn't see that coming, I'll be honest.

Nor did she, I had to explain to her what viral meant.

She's like, do I need to go to the doctor?

Turns out everybody was way more interested in my mom than

all my other photos of me on the carpet and my hair

and my suits, and nobody really cared.

They just wanted to hear about my mom.

It was just such a sweet text that she sent

during the Globes and it was just,

I don't know, so pure and sweet,

and it's just a nice little wholesome moment.

The whole Jury Duty family is such a great tight knit family

and I get to celebrate all of that with them

which is really special.

And I think all of us are so blown away by the fact

that we're here talking about it.

That tequila's starting to kick in.

[laughing]

Oh, Ronald, Jury Duty's calling.

This was actually organic.

Like, we did not, hold on.

Ronald, the guy from Jury Duty is what he is in my contact.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Oh, you have a bottle in your hand too.

Look at this.

Hey!

I'm not in my tux yet because I've decided not to go.

Please dude, you just didn't wanna distract from everybody

because you're gonna win.

You know this, right?

Oh man, you're the best.

I still, I'm still trying to find the chink in the armor.

Like, where's your flaw?

Where, oh, what, you're not this like super sweet,

perfect guy.

Everyone's like, oh Ronald, his humanity.

He's so kind, he's so decent.

I see you, I'm onto you.

Alright man, let's have a good time

and congrats on all this.

I just, there's no one else I'd wanna share it with

than you pal,

Dude, so good, man I'm excited to see you tonight.

Alright, alright, see you soon, bye.

Now's that time, I'm gonna start getting dressed,

getting ready.

You guys are free to watch if you want.

Join me in watching me get dressed.

Our secrets.

Peek behind the curtain.

What is this?

A little cream to make you look young and beautiful.

To make me look young and beautiful.

[gentle music]

Can it make me young and beautiful?

It is, perfect.

Up until a few weeks ago, I was using Jergens on my face.

But I will say nothing beats you like washing your face.

Oh, good cream, good clean face.

Oh no, I was gonna say a bar of Irish Spring.

Oh, absolutely.

Just rip the skin off.

Well, it just gets the dirt out.

I mean, I would go home from set with makeup on my face

and just fall asleep

and it wasn't until recently when people say

that you shouldn't do that, but maybe that's my secret.

Maybe makeup is a really good moisturizer

and people just don't know

'cause they've been taking it off their face for so long.

It's not a it know, action cut kind of show.

We were all nervous that, you know,

if he discovered what we were doing, you know,

we gotta get him to the finish line.

It's three weeks of shooting.

The closer you got him to the end, the higher the stakes.

So I think all of us were just, you know,

it was like live theater.

You just couldn't, couldn't screw up.

Everyone was scared to be the one to blow it.

It was fun for me to be that character

and mess around with the other actors.

I always like making fun of myself.

I like making fun of, I mean I love what I do

and I take it very seriously,

but I like to keep it in check and sort of, I dunno,

find ways to playfully make fun of it without like,

discounting or discrediting what we do for a living.

Yeah, I love it.

I've been doing it for 30 years.

Alright, hair check, makeup check.

Ready to get dressed.

Gonna get ready for this thing.

Okay, I'm sober again.

Huh?

[Interviewer] Who are you wearing?

Oh, I thought you said, who are you marrying?

The Academy.

I'm wearing Canali, double breasted.

Just classic tux, no tie.

Oh, that's supposed to be undone, right?

Yeah.

Gotta let that beast breathe.

You can dress me up and try to make me classy,

but then I open my mouth.

Oh open, oh because of the cummerbund.

See, I'm just a child when I get dressed.

If it wasn't for David, Alaria, Savannah,

I would be going to the Emmys in a T-shirt and jeans.

Alright, I feel like a million bucks.

Got some lovely Omega watch here.

Classic non date, formal watch.

You didn't know that.

That's that technically a formal watch has no date.

[gentle music]

Okay, alright, so I guess we're heading to the Emmys now.

Here we go.

Okay, off we go.

Which way is the elevator?

This way?

This is it.

Now I start to feel all the real nerves start to kick in.

[gentle music]

So the door's already open.

There we go.

It's been real.

See at the Emmys guys.

[gentle music] [chatter]
