Prepare to see red on February 16 -- literally.

How to be a Redhead, a beauty brand for redheads with operations and distribution based out of Wilmington, will appear on Shark Tank at 8 p.m. Friday on ABC.

The popular show features investors, or "sharks," who listen to pitches from people with business ideas and decide whether or not to invest in their products.

Co-founders and sisters Adrienne Vendetti Hodges and Stephanie Vendetti created their beauty brand in 2011, producing a makeup line specifically designed for redheaded women.

The naturally redheaded sisters opened their warehouse space in Wilmington in 2016.

"As the business continues to grow, they're now in their 3rd space in Castle Hayne," Carter Gambardella, outreach assistant apprentice for the company, said in an email.

How to be a Redhead aims to "empower redheads to feel confident (and) rock their beauty with specially curated products specifically made for redheads, by redheads," Gambardella said. "Red hair is more than color, it’s a lifestyle."

The Vendetti sisters "struggled to find beauty and fashion items that cater to redheaded women" growing up, according the brand's webpage. They have created 14 mascara and brow products as part of How to be a Redhead's H2BAR makeup line. All H2BAR subscription boxes are shipped out from Wilmington.

Future product launches are in the works, such as shampoo, conditioner, concealer, and alternative lipstick shades, according to Gambardella.

Outside of their own makeup line, the company also utilizes a five-step process to deem other beauty products 'redhead friendly.' Overall, the sisters share the goal of creating a platform that exists as a "'safe haven' for redheads worldwide," according to their webpage.
