Reality TV shows often advertise their upcoming seasons as the most dramatic yet, but Love Is Blind season 5 really meant it. This season has featured more love triangles, breakups, and shake ups than any other season, and for the first time ever, we only had two weddings during the finale, and people (rightfully) dropped out during every part of the experiment, from the pods to the couples vacation in Mexico.

Unfortunately, all of this drama and messiness hasn't really translated to fans, as many people have spoken about how they miss the love and commitment shown on previous seasons, especially season 4. The good news is we still have a reunion to straighten things out, and while Netflix hasn’t officially renewed the series yet, there could be more to come.

But back to season five. The last time we saw the couples, Stacy and Izzy and Lydia and Milton were applying for their marriage licenses and getting ready to head down the aisle, but both couples had their own issues to work through before making things official and saying I do.

Since this is Love is Blind, anything can happen, and we have information on what happened during the show's finale, as well as where the couples are now. Since the show was filmed in spring 2022, you may be surprised to hear that some of the cast’s relationship statuses have changed. Here's what you need to know about the Love is Blind season five couples now.

Which Love Is Blind Season 5 Couples Are Still Together?

Stacy & Izzy

Stacy and Izzy got engaged in the pods after Izzy broke it off with his other connections, and they were both pleased when they finally got to see each other for the first time during the reveal. Their couple’s vacation in Mexico went pretty well, but they started having some problems after heading back home to Houston, mainly about finances, cooking and honesty.

Things came to a head just one night before the wedding, as it turned out Izzy hadn’t been completely transparent about his credit card debt and credit score. That rattled Stacy. as she had asked him about it before and he hadn’t opened up. On their wedding day, Izzy told the cameras that he would be seeing “yes” at the altar. Stacy still seemed to be wary as she got ready, although she did say that she loved Izzy.

Once they made their way up the aisle and it was time to say I do, Izzy said yes, but Stacy said no. She told Izzy that while she loved him and didn't necessarily want to break things off, she didn't feel like it was right for them to get married, and that she needed more time. Izzy was shaken and upset, and it seems like they both left on not the best terms. As for where they are right now, it's extremely unclear, but Izzy has been spotted hanging out with someone that doesn't look like Stacy.

And in the reunion, that's all but confirmed. The two shared they're both in relationships, but not with one another. They revealed they met a week after the ceremony and talked. Izzy was upset that Stacy wanted to start over, and didn't talk to her for a year. But since then, they've rekindled a friendship. The two are now dating other people.

Lydia & Milton

Lydia and Milton got together after her failed connection with Izzy, along with her secret request to rekindle things with Uche at the beginning of the season. Initially, Lydia had been reticent about Milton because of their age gap, but they continued to get to know each other, and Milton eventually proposed to Lydia. Most of their real life conflicts happened because they're just very different people; Milton is disorganized, Lydia is neat. Additionally, Milton’s family wasn’t fully on board with their marriage, and the couple also had some tension with Uche during the pod squad get-together.

On the pair’s last date before their wedding, they had a heated conversation about how to handle conflict, with Lydia telling Milton that he needed to accept the fact that she is emotional and passionate. On their wedding day, Lydia was certain she was going to say yes, while Milton seemed shaken up as reality set in that he was getting married. At the altar, they both said yes and got married.

At the reunion, filmed right after the show aired, we see Milton and Lydia are still together and thriving. They're so in love, in fact, they got married again in Puerto Rico. They also revealed Milton's parents are close with Lydia and have since warmed up to her.

Chris & Johnie

Besides Izzy, Chris was Johnie's top connection, but she chose to break up with him in order to continue on with Izzy. In a sad twist of fate, Izzy decided to then break things off with Johnie in order to propose to Stacy, which then led Johnny to go back to Chris after she heard about how heartbroken he was that she had broken up with him. At the time, Chris was not ready to try again and he said that he didn't want to feel like second-best. But by the time of the pod BBQ, a few weeks later, the couple was in a relationship, and they explained how they reconnected when they saw each other in the airport going home.

According to the reunion, Chris and Johnie have broken up. After the BBQ, Chris went on to pursue another relationship, but didn't tell Johnie it was over. Johnie says she didn't hear from him for two weeks and learned through a friend he was seeing someone. Chris recognizes he didn't handle things well, but says he's happy with a new partner and still cares for Johnie.

Before the reunion, Johnie posted a photo of flowers she received from the man she’s been dating with a sweet note, and during the reunion she confirmed that she had been in a new relationship for about a year.

Aaliyah & Uche

Aaliyah and Uche connected quickly in the pods, but their relationship was derailed by Aaliyah’s confession that she had cheated on a former partner, and then Uche’s revelation Lydia was his ex. Aaliyah then made the decision to leave the experiment early, but she and Uche later met up in person to talk about what had happened.

Aaliyah explained that she believed Lydia had followed Uche onto the show, and Uche expressed a little bit more empathy to Aaliyah’s feelings, and he also further explained his past relationship with Lydia. At the end of their meetup, Aaliyah expressed that she wanted to get back together, but Uche said no.

However, Uche revealed on Instagram that he had actually said yes to rekindling things, and the two had shared their first kiss after that date. But while they ended up dating after the show, the couple is now currently broken up, and there was some allegedly unsavory behavior by Uche. Aaliyah shared that she broke things off because a couple of people from the show warned her that Uche was speaking badly about her in a private group chat, and Uche crudely told her that he wasn’t his regular “type.” “I'mma be honest. I think he wasn't truly attracted to me as well," Aaliyah shared on Love Is Blind’s alum Cameron Hamilton’s Hanging With the Hamiltons podcast. "He mentioned that I wasn't his type, his ideal type, and that was kind of hurtful too. I didn't care how he looked."

Luckily, Aaliyah got her happy ending, and she’s in a loving relationship right now. “The way this man just poured into me and loved me. He didn't care. He never judged anything I told him. I'm in such a good place with who I'm with because I know it's real. I know it's genuine. It's the treatment I deserved all along,” she shared about her new man on the Athletically Declined Sports podcast.

Taylor & JP

Netflix

Taylor and JP were the first couple to get engaged in the pods, and they didn't have any major issues until they met up in person. Their reveal was awkward, but most fans chalked it up to JP just being nervous. However, during the couples getaway, they barely spoke to each other, even though Taylor tried to engage JP in conversation multiple times. She decided to try one last time to ask him what had changed, and he said that he felt differently about her because he didn't like the fact that she was wearing makeup during the reveal.

Taylor was understandably incredulous at this confession, and JP's further comments about her appearance didn't really make sense. She decided to sleep in a separate hotel room that night, and the next day she broke things off of JP and returned his ring.

In a confessional at the end of the season, JP admitted that his reluctance to open up had cost him many relationships in the past. The two are not together now.

At the reunion, JP apologized and realized how hurtful his comments were, while Taylor posits JP was never attracted to her after they met in person. As for their current relationship status, JP said he had been with someone new for about a year now, and Taylor also said that she was seeing someone.

Renee & Carter

a man and woman
Netflix

If you strictly stick to watching the show without checking out social media, or other outlets, you may be surprised to learn that Renee and Carter actually did get engaged, went on the couples’ vacation, and made it all the way to the altar. Unfortunately, their story was completely cut out from the show, and certain scenes were even edited to explain their presence—remember when the ladies went shopping for their wedding dresses and Lydia was made to act like Renee had accompanied her there?

The couple is not engaged anymore, as Renee said no at the altar, and she’s actually married to a completely different person right now. But as for why her and Carter’s story was removed from the series? There are rumors swirling that the man Renee is married to right now was actually her boyfriend before and during filming, and that Netflix decided to cut their story after they learned about her relationship.

However, Renee has stated that she and her husband started dating after the show finished filming, and she told Popsugar that Netflix edited them out because they didn’t want her to have to “relive” how awful Carter was, and she’s also hinted that Carter cheated on her during the experiment and brought a girl back to their shared apartment.

However, other sources are saying that Carter allegedly threatened that there would be “consequences” for Netflix if his story was shown. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until the reunion to find out more, but the former couple’s stories are a little hard to believe, as it's likely that the cast has to sign contracts that state that Netflix can tell their story and use their likeness—so cutting them had to be due to a huge issue. Unfortunately, the two were not invited to the reunion, and their relationship wasn't mentioned at all, so we may not ever know what really happened here.
