Social media can be very cruel to the most well-known characters and faces. It is a hatred that has been brewing in recent years and already seems to have little control. One of the people who has suffered the most, from practically the moment the account was opened, is the artist Selena Gomez. She has an entourage of fans behind her, but the 'haters' are also very noisy.

On the other hand, the conflict between Israel and Palestine is increasing the sensitivity of users. And Selena has been one of the singers who shared her discomfort and pain for what was happening. "People being tortured and killed or any act of hatred towards any group, it's horrible. We need to protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence for good," she wrote at the time through a story.

However, she was also aware that it wasn't going to help anyone, no matter how hard she tried. "I'm sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can't stand innocent people getting hurt. That's what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But one post won't do it," she added.

But this is surely what has most annoyed a certain sector of her fans. The criticism she has most likely received, being the woman with the most followers on Instagram where she has 430 million followers, has been the straw that, definitely, seems to have broken the camel's back.

"I will take a break and delete my Instagram. I'm done. I do not support any of what's going on," she wrote. Only time will tell whether or not the account will finally be deleted, as she has threatened.
