Sadie Frost has apologised for allowing her young daughter Iris to wear a suggestive outfit to a London Fashion Week show.

Iris was pictured beside her mother on the front row of the Vivienne Westwood show at London Fashion Week, wearing a dress emblazoned with pictures of Love Heart sweets, but on closer inspection, the messages were far more suggestive than the usual 'be mine' and 'stay cool' words normally found on the confectionary. Instead, the design included the messages, 'drop dead', 'drink poison', 'eat sh*t' and 'blow me'.

Following publication of the pictures, Sadie's ex-husband Jude Law requested for Iris' face to be pixelated in the images, in order to protect her from any further embarrassment.

Taking to Twitter to defend her daughter's outfit, Sadie explained that she had genuinely been unaware of the messages.

"I seem to have upset people & am shocked myself about the dress Iris wore to Vivienne Westwoods show. Iris had been bought it as a present [sic]," she posted.

"I assumed it was just the sayings the sweets have on them. I'm sorry for any upset it may have caused..Iris is a sweet, innocent girl.

"We were enjoying a day out with my mum me @ iris and it was a lovey day.I guess the dress should be hidden till she's older..#genuinemistake.[sic]"

Sadie and Jude have previously disagreed over their parenting approaches. In 2010, Sadie temporarily deleted her Twitter account after an alleged row with Jude's ex Sienna Miller, who had taken Iris to get her hair cut while Sadie was at the Isle Of Wight Festival.

Sadie tweeted: "I think ya should get ya own child and then cut their hair," but later deleted her account and denied the story.
