It's been a busy week for Selena Gomez.
Last weekend the Only Murders in the Building star attended the Golden Globe Awards, where she—along with friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller—set the internet ablaze with the gossip sesh heard (or, more accurately, not heard) ’round the world.
But she's emerged from Whispergate unscathed, appearing on the Emmy Awards red carpet on Monday, January 15, in a gorgeous look reminiscent of her recent VMAs style: sheer with cutouts, a thorny element, and a red palette.
Her custom Oscar de la Renta gown hugged her curves, and was crafted using 450,000 sequins. Her jewelry, all by Tiffany & Co., includes a diamond-encrusted necklace featuring a 35-karat gemstone in the front, diamond and platinum earrings, and three Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany rings.
As for her beauty look, Gomez's sideswept bangs look super sophisticated, as does her goth-glam makeup and manicure.
Gomez's Emmys look marks a departure from her appearance at the Globes, where she wore a red halter gown by Armani Privé that featured rosette details and a dramatic asymmetrical hem. Lately she has been working with stylist Erin Walsh, who also has the likes of Anne Hathaway and Jessica Alba as clients.
Following the aforementioned gossip sesh, Gomez responded to the rampant theories about what she and her friends were discussing—namely, that they were talking about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner—commenting on Instagram, “Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone business.”
Then she announced a social media break, sharing a video of her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, on her Stories along with the caption “I’m off social for a while. I’m focusing on what really matters.”
But the Selena Gomez news cycle wasn't quite done yet. On Wednesday January 10, it was announced that she would be starring as Linda Ronstadt in a new biopic about the legendary singer. Prior to her social media hiatus, she had shared a photo of Rondstadt's biography, seemingly teasing her involvement in the project.
