Mimicking the two-season sitcom that aired between 2009 and 2010, the upcoming iteration centres on an LA catering team hoping to break into Hollywood.

Marsden's character is Jack Botty, an actor who is known for playing the lead in a popular superhero franchise. "Jack's looks match his charm, he enjoys his life, his fame and being the center of everyone's attention," the character synopsis continues.

Thunder Force's Williams plays Sackson, a "handsome, confident, driven, wannabe influencer/internet personality". The synopsis adds: "He's knowledgeable and savvy about his specific internet niche, but a bit lost in every other aspect of life."

Garner, whose many credits include Dallas Buyers Club and Elektra, has the role of Evie, a "successful producer of studio franchise movies, who, in the wake of a break-up, is reconsidering her life choices".

Evie is also set to begin a new relationship with returning character Henry Pollard, played by Adam Scott, which becomes a way for her to explore some new directions.

And lastly, The Afterparty actress Chao is onboard as Lucy – described as passionate and outspoken.

"Lucy dreams of being a celebrity chef, but she's stuck cranking out hors d'oeuvres at Party Down without the resources to do anything more ambitious," the description adds.

Party Down was revived with a six-episode order back in November 2021, and each episode will see the catering team working a new event and getting tangled up with the guests and their lives.

Party Down will air on Starz in the US, with a UK broadcaster yet to be announced.
