Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl fame rocks a glam goth girl look in a LBD with braids and dramatic eye makeup at pre-Grammy party in West Hollywood

Taylor Momsen looked every bit the rock star as she stepped out at the BMG pre-Grammy Awards party in West Hollywood on Wednesday night.

The Pretty Reckless front woman wore a tiny black tank dress with knee high, platform heeled black boots.

She accessorized her look with seven layered necklaces of varying lengths ranging from an early aughts style choker to a long necklace that ended mid torso.

The Gossip Girl alum wore her platinum blonde hair in two long braids and left tendrils of hair out of the braids framing her face.

Her eye makeup was dark and dramatic, with heavy black eyeliner on above and below her eyes paired with smokey eyeshadow.

The How the Grinch Stole Christmas star kept the rest of her face natural and pale and used a light pink lipstick on her lips.

And the Death By Rock and Roll singer is on an upswing after a few rough years that drove her into depression and substance abuse.

Her band was on tour with Soundgarden in 2017 when Chris Cornell died. The following year her longtime friend and producer Kato Khandwala was killed in a motorcycle accident.

And then COVID-19 shut down the entire music industry, which was the final nail in the coffin for Taylor.

But now she's on tour with the Pretty Reckless and making music again and that has made all the difference in the world.

'Being able to get out on the road again and play all of this material and complete the full circle of what it means to play music and make a new record has been very invigorating,' Taylor told Elle in December.

'It’s breathing life into the band and myself and I feel like we’re in a very positive place, which is nice to be able to say as we started in a very negative one.'

'Playing live is like a drug you can’t get anywhere else and I think that by not playing live for so long, I was going through withdrawal and I didn’t even realize it,' she added.

And she's also had plenty of time to process her grief.

'I don’t think that that heaviness and that grief and that loss ever goes away and that’s something I’m learning,' the Spy Kids 2 star said. 'I’m never not going to miss Kato. I miss him every minute of every day.'

'But it’s something that has become a part of me now and that wound isn’t so fresh, like I’m not bleeding all over the floor with it anymore. It’s just a part of my body now,' the Only Love Can Save Me Now singer explained.
