Just like when their labelmates Girls’ Generation landed ten songs on the chart, SHINee comes flying back on the K-Pop Hot 100 with their new album. Seven of the nine tracks from the boy band’s new album, “Chapter 1. ‘Dream Girl-The Misconceptions of You,'” charted this week. The album is said to be the first nine tracks in a special two-part album with “Chapter 2” coming in the 2nd quarter of 2013.
The lead single off the album, “Dream Girl,” rushes up to No. 3 this week. The track debuted last week at No. 35 with only a few days of sales tracked. With a full week of promotions and excitement brewing over the popular boy band, it’s no wonder so many of the group’s tracks charted.

The solid album spotlights the band’s vocal color combination. For a comeback stage on KBS’ Music Bank, the group performed “Beautiful” and “Dream Girl.” Their chart dominance ranges:
No. 3 “Dream Girl”
No. 32 “Aside”
No. 54 “Beautiful”
No. 68 “Girls Girls Girls”
No. 83 “Punch Drunk Love”
No. 91 “Hitchhiking”
No. 97 “Spoiler”
As exciting of accomplishment as it is for SHINee, their efforts could not trump the unstoppable SISTAR19. With “Gone Not Around Any Longer” still performing well on digital charts, the sub-unit has yet to budge from the No. 1 position. The news comes just as SISTAR, the splinter act’s mother group, celebrates its 1000th day since debuting in 2010.
Lee Seung Gi made chart history by spending seven weeks atop the K-Pop Hot 100, confirming ballads as the definite flavor-of-the-moment. The One, a Korean vocal trainer and solo singer, picks up on this sentiment with his new soundtrack contribution “Winter Love.” The track was recorded for Korean drama “That Winter, The Wind Blows.” As winter is still in full effect in Korea and America, the track’s mood is undoubtedly striking a chord with the public eager for spring. The track is this week’s highest debut.
Rack up yet another Top 10 single for Ailee (who just ruled at No. 1 with BAE CHI GI in January) for her collaboration with rapper Verbal Jint, “If It Ain’t Love.” His new single debuts at No. 10. Reality show contestants Akdong Musician also earn another Top 10 single with their latest, “Is It Ramyum.”
Elsewhere in the Top 10, BAE CHI GI’s “Shower of Tears,” Huh Gak’s “Monodrama” and “1440,” Leessang’s “Tears” and Davichi’s “Do You Know” all fall two spots to Nos. 4, 5, 9, 6 and 7, respectively.
