Big Bang member/singer Daesung's return to major broadcasting station TV is being received with a cold shoulder by Korean netizens. 

The singer will continue to appear as guest on the October 28 broadcast of MBC's 'Hangout With Yoo', which will follow JS Entertainment's CEO Yoo Jae Suk on his search for the main vocalist of his very own K-Pop boy group, ONE TOP. 

On this episode, Yoo Jae Suk will share a snippet of ONE TOP's long-awaited debut song with the group's members, including HaHa, Lee Yi Kyung, and Joo Woo Jae. The episode will also continue where it left off last week, where Yoo Jae Suk met up with Daesung to consider him a candidate for the main vocal position of ONE TOP. 

Since his building ownership controversy in 2019, Daesung has largely kept away from the public's eyes. During this controversy, it was found that multiple unregistered, adult entertainment businesses were running inside a Gangnam building owned by Daesung. While Daesung claimed that he was not aware of the businesses operating illegally in his building, the business owners claimed that many of Daesung's close acquaintances had paid multiple visits, thereby claiming that there was no way that Daesung had been unaware of the business operations. Ultimately, 56 individuals found to have had a role in running these illegal businesses, including the business business owners and employees, were indicted in the case, while Daesung was found not guilty due to a lack of any evidence that he had been aware of the activities of his building tenants. 

On the other hand, in May 2011, Daesung was involved in a collision accident with a motorcyclist on Yanghwa Bridge. In this case, police found that the motorcyclist, 'H', had been intoxicated while on his vehicle. 'H' then collided with a street light and was potentially injured, or killed, from the impact. Daesung's vehicle, an Audi A4, then collided with 'H' moments later. Ultimately, police concluded that while Daesung had violated the Road Traffic Act by speeding (going 80 km in a 60 kg speed zone), there was insufficient evidence to believe that Daesung had caused the death of 'H'. 

After his extended hiatus from major broadcasting station TV programs, it seems that Daesung is now ready to greet the public once again. However, many Korean netizens are critical of the singer's decision to return. Furthermore, as shown in a preview for this weekend's episode of 'Hangout With Yoo', Daesung will be singing Big Bang songs for his "audition" with Yoo Jae Suk, which many felt was "inappropriate" in light of fellow Big Bang member G-Dragon's current involvement in illegal drug use investigations. 

Some netizens expressed their opinions by stating, "Singing Big Bang songs at a time like this? The production crew for this show really needs to start using some of their brains", "Yoo Jae Suk is not a washing machine for getting out stains in the industry", "This program is already on its last leg, but now it's being used by people like him to cleanse their image??", "Yoo Jae Suk should also be stricter about these kinds of situations. He knows how much power and influence he yields", and more.
