Mokelumne Hill, CA:Health Research, 1963. Illustrated from photographs and drawings. This is the longest version of this variable true first edition, which had at least three cover colors (yellow, white and orange), at least two text lengths (105 pp. and this 111 pp. one), and at least two book-ad-section lengths after the text (16 pp and 22 pp, possibly also 10 pp). This longest version: Illustrated yellow stapled wraps, quarto, 111 pp + 22 pp books ads from Health Research, those books being largely on paranormal and/or controversial topics; section includes 3 pp of UFO photos in this case (other book-ad-section lengths do not have those). See also listings #1310, #1314 and #1317). In addition to being the longest version I've seen, this particular copy is in relatively better condition than most for the title, with no tears, inked annotations, or loose or missing covers. It does show faint coffee stains, bottom front cover, and some smaller stains, top of back cover. No other salient flaws, and firmly staple-bound. Overall, Very Good. This is the true first appearance of NYU professor Raymond Bernard's originally almost wildly popular conjecture - that being that the earth is hollow, with openings at both poles; and, moreover, in hollow areas 900 miles down, a race of gentle superhumans live - and it is they who pilot the UFOs, craft which people in the 1950s and 1960s were still struggling to explain, those phenomena having not yet, at that time, been distilled to the handful of explanations now favored, across the spectrum, by believers, skeptics, and everyone in between. Not just a conjecture in his own eyes, his hypothesis is now regaining momentum with the increasing reporting of USO events. This is just plain rare stuff. l-g2. Seller Inventory # 001324
