Jaafar Jackson’s resemblance to the King of Pop is uncanny!

The singer-turned-actor — and Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew — looks just like his uncle in new set photos from the star’s upcoming biopic, Michael.

In the May 4 shots, snapped in Los Angeles, Jaafar, 27, rocked a blue, military-style jacket with gold details and aviator shades. The look was nearly identical to an outfit Michael wore at a press conference in 1983, and the style itself is one the pop legend wore often, particularly later in his career.

The new photos also show Jaafar — the son of Michael’s brother and Jackson 5 bandmate Jermaine Jackson — embodying his uncle with some hair-and-makeup magic, as well as his gestures, imitating both the King of Pop's smile and giving a Michael-style peace sign.

These latest set pics follow several that have come out since Michael, which is directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, first began production.

In March, Jaafar was spotted filming what appears to be an earlier era of Michael’s legendary career, rocking a much shorter ‘do and a varsity jacket — another iconic staple in the King of Pop’s wardrobe.

The nostalgic clothing item was an '80s favourite of the Michael who wore a similar one in the 14-minute music video for "Thriller" in 1983.

In February set photos, Jaafar looked identical to his uncle in one of his classic ‘90s looks — a white button-up, white V-neck, black pants and low ponytail — and filmed with costar Nia Long, who is set to portray Michael’s mother Katherine Jackson in the film.

Michael will also star Kat Graham as Diana Ross, Jessica Sula as La Toya Jackson, Liv Symone as Gladys Knight, Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones, Miles Teller as John Branca, Colman Domingo as Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson and more.

Speaking about the film, which marks Jaafar’s first foray into acting, director Fuqua previously told Variety, "It's incredibly exciting to watch Jaafar bring Michael to life."

“There was such a spiritual connection when I first met Jaafar, who has a natural ability to emulate Michael and such a great chemistry with the camera,” he added.

Fuqua also previously said in an official statement that the team behind the project consists of "incredible" hair and makeup artists, costume designers, lighting artists and more — including some “who knew and worked with Michael," who died in 2009 at age 50.

"But most importantly, it's Jaafar who embodies Michael,” the director noted. “It goes beyond the physical resemblance. It’s Michael’s spirit that comes through in a magical way. You have to experience it to believe it.”

Jaafar also received a stamp of approval from his grandmother — and the King of Pop’s mom herself — Katherine.

When Jaafar’s casting as Michael was announced in January 2023, she told The Hollywood Reporter, "It's so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers.”

Michael will be released worldwide on April 18, 2025.
