Big Bang's Daesung is not guilty

31 Aug - Prosecutors in Korea on Monday have found Big Bang member Daesung not guilty in a fatal road accident that caused the death of a motorcyclist in May this year, according to the Channel News Asia website.

The police said the deceased motorcyclist, identified only as Hyun by the authorities, was under the influence of alcohol and crashed into a lamp post on the night of 31 May.

The collision left him lying on the road with head and neck injuries, until Daesung ran him over about 2 minutes later, dragging Hyun's body 28.8 metres down the road.

The prosecution said that due to a lack of evidence, investigations had failed to establish whether Hyun was alive when Daesung ran him over.

Prosecutors also did not rule out the possibility that the motorcyclist could have died from the initial collision.

Daesung was found to be driving at between 70 and 80km/h on the night of the accident. The speed limit is 60km/h.

Daesung is now expected to return to his music-related activities alongside his Big Bang mates.
