IDoS is a lo-fi ambient, improvisational surrealist band based in Springfield, Illinois. Founding members markobarloco and Joe Wallace record their work in secret, using the finest and quirkiest analog synth gear, hand-held battery-powered devices, traditional guitars, and dozens and dozens of stomp boxes and EFX pedals. Some tracks feature as many as five echo pedals running in series at the same time.

That might sound fairly noisy, but there are lots of quiet, contemplative moments in IDoS music, the goal is to take a journey through sound toward inner space.

Recommended if you like Eno/Fripp, Eno/Cale, King Crimson, Coil, Nurse With Wound, the odder works of Perry and Kingsley, Throbbing Gristle, and Delia Derbyshire, without whom none of this would sound quite the same thanks to her massive influence on electronic-based music.
