El próximo jueves 19 de octubre las 19:00 hrs se inaugura la muestra Territorio al fin del mundo de Jorge Lankin y Horizonte Aparente de Mauro Boscarín en Galería Animal. Más de 25 obras gráficas y pinturas en mediano y gran formato llegan a Galería Animal (Av. Nueva Costanera 3731) en una presentación de la nueva etapa de trabajo del destacado artista Jorge Lankin. Dejando atrás los polípticos y centrándose ahora en piezas únicas, Lankin usa el colorido que lo ha caracterizado desde sus inicios para mostrarnos un recorrido por Chile y sus antiguas culturas. Inspirándose en sus viajes de norte a sur, Lankin crea bellas imágenes que rescatan la flora y fauna, el arte rupestre y la manualidad ancestral, traspasándolas a la plancha del grabado en metal, haciendo relatos únicos de su historia. Por otra parte, se presenta también a Mauro Boscarin, professional printmaker. Boscarin ha colaborado en la edición de obra gráfica de grandes pintores chilenos, y en esta ocasión muestra su obra personal donde destaca el trabajo de buril y punta seca sobre matrices texturadas. Buscando los alcances poéticos que tiene la indagación científica, el artista se expresa en planos abstractos y colores monocromos. La muestra permanecerá abierta hasta el día sábado 11 de noviembre.

On Thursday 19 October at 19:00 hrs opens the exhibition Territory at the end of the world by Jorge Lankin and Apparent Horizon by Mauro Boscarín at Animal Gallery. More than 25 graphic works and paintings in medium and large format arrived at Animal Gallery (Av. Nueva Costanera 3731) in a presentation of the new stage of work of the outstanding artist Jorge Lankin. Leaving behind the polyptychs and now focusing on unique pieces, Lankin uses the color that has characterized it since its beginnings to show us a tour of Chile and its ancient cultures. Inspired by his travels from north to south, Lankin creates beautiful images that rescue flora and fauna, rock art and ancestral craftsmanship, transferring them to the plate of metal engraving, making unique accounts of its history. On the other hand, it is also presented Mauro Boscarin, professional printmaker. Boscarin has collaborated in the edition of graphic work of great Chilean painters, and this time he shows his personal work where he emphasizes the work of buril and dry point on textured matrices. Looking for the poetic reaches of scientific inquiry, the artist expresses himself in abstract planes and monochrome colors. The exhibition will remain open until Saturday, November 11.

JORGE LANKIN Nacido en Santiago, estudio Licenciatura en Grabado de la Escuela de Arte de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Centrado principalmente en el grabado Lankin utiliza diferentes técnicas gráficas para realizar una obra que destaca principalmente por el uso de imágenes populares con destacados coloridos, que crean una imaginería dialogante de amplios significados. Se destaca su participación en múltiples acciones de arte llamada “La olla común” donde llama al público a participar en la creación de grabados en forma colectiva. Vive y trabaja en Santiago. Born in Santiago de Chile, Jorge Lankin studied Printmaking at the Escuela de Arte de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Focused primarily on the etchings Lankin uses different graphic techniques to produce a work that stands out because of the use of popular colourful images. He has participated in various art activities called “the common pot” where he calls the public to participate in the creation of prints collectively. He currently lives and works in Santiago.

MAURO BOSCARIN Mauro Boscarin nació en Santiago de Chile en el año 1970. Se formó en el aria de las ciencias biológicas y el teatro. Expone por primera vez en forma individual en 1996. Ha participado en diversas colectivas en Chile y en el extranjero. Desde el 2006 al 2014 se dedicó a la dirección del taller de grabado estudioeditor, espacio que fundo con el objetivo de asistir en el desarrollo y producción de proyectos gráficos para artistas, actividad que continua desempeñando actualmente en forma independiente. Esta es su sexta muestra individual. Mauro Boscarin was born in Santiago de Chile in 1970. He was trained in the area of biological sciences and theater. His work has been exhibited for the first time individually in 1996. He has participated in various collectives in Chile and abroad. From 2006 to 2014 he dedicated himself to the direction of the engraving studio estudioeditor, space that fund with the objective of assisting in the development and production of graphic projects for artists, an activity that continues to perform independently. This is his sixth individual exhibition.

En nuestra percepción el tiempo solo tiene una dirección. La matriz es finita. La materia se resta solo hasta que la materia/matriz existe. La materia/matriz es remplazada por la materia/pigmento, la estampa reporta la degradación y desaparición de la materia ahora transformada en tinta e impronta, en huella sobre el soporte. El papel es la consciencia de la perdida de material en la búsqueda de la representación. Nos muestra a travez del pigmento y el gofrado, una ausencia. In our perception time has only one direction. The matrix is finite. Matter is subtracted only until the matter / matrix exists. The material / matrix is replaced by the matter / pigment, the stamp reports the degradation and disappearance of the matter now transformed into ink and imprint, in print on the support. The role is the awareness of the loss of material in the search for representation. It shows us through pigment and embossing, an absence.
