Adidas Originals and Craig Green will release their collaborative take on the classic Stan Smith silhouette on Sept. 14. The partnership of the footwear brand with the British designer resulted in two new styles, the CG Boost Stan and CG Split Stan, both featuring innovative and fashion-forward silhouettes.
The CG Split Stan challenges the traditional silhouette of a sneaker by splitting it in half, literally. A rubber protrusion sits in the middle of the sneaker, splitting the style down the middle.
The split style will be available in three versatile colorways; “White,” “Black” and “Khaki.”
The CG Boost Stan is kept whole but brings a unique perspective on footwear nonetheless. Revisiting iconography from Adidas archives, the footwear includes textural die-cut uppers situated atop a midsole and foxing created from Adidas’ Boost technology. This tech was created to give their shoes a soft and responsive cushioning.
Additionally, the sneakers include three stripe perforations on the uppers, an Adidas staple, along with graphic printed Stan Smith logo detailing on the tongue and Trefoil on the heel, reminiscent to the shoe’s original silhouette. The CG Boost Stan will be available in “White,” “Black” and “Silver” colorways.
Craig Green is a British fashion designer with a focus on menswear. The designer is best known for his unique but wearable silhouettes featuring a utilitarian touch. Green held his first solo show in spring 2015 2015 during London Fashion Week and has since become a household name and an industry darling.
Founded in 2001, Adidas Originals is a subdivision of Adidas that is primarily dedicated to fashion, lifestyle and heritage-based products. Adidas Originals product is marked by their iconic Trefoil which was first utilized by the brand in 1972.
Adidas Originals x Craig Green Stan Smith sneakers will be available starting Sept. 14 through adidas.com and via select retailers.
