DHARMA

Also a known fact is that if you take every first letter from each page you will get the word “DHARMA’ which is again a reference to the TV show Lost.

The DHARMA Initiative is represented by a series of distinct eight-sided logos, based on the traditional Taoist Bagua or pa kua (“eight trigrams” in Chinese). One is believed to be a general logo, representing the Initiative as a whole. The other logos seem to be designed specifically for each of the various DHARMA Initiative activities, in particular for the stations on the Island.

From left to right, from top to bottom:

1. The Door:
Was a location guarded by the others, later discovered to not lead to anything but a rock wall.

2. The Temple:
Was the safe haven of the Others.

3. The tempest
The Tempest was a DHARMA initiative station that produced, stored, and distributed a deadly toxic gas.  It was used by the Hostiles during them Purge to annihilate the DHARMA initiative on the Island.

4. The Looking glass
The Looking Glass was an underwater DHARMA initiative station used as a beacon to help guide in submarines approaching the island. A secondary purpose appeared to be related to communications.

5. The flame:
The Flame was a DHARMA initiative communication station.
The station was completely destroyed.

6. The Pearl:
(should be inverted color scheme – I’ll look into that later)
Was used as a monitoring station.

7.  The hydra:
The Hydra is a DHARMA initiative zoological research station located on the Hydra Island, a second and smaller island a few miles offshore. The Hydra appears to be one of the larger, if not the largest of the DHARMA facilities.

8. The Staff:
The Staff was a DHARMA initiative station which was used as a medical facility. After the Purge, The Others appeared to have used the station infrequently for the treatment of pregnant women.

9. The Swan:
More commonly known as The Hatch by the survivors of Flight 815, was an underground facility on the island built by the DHARMA Initiative during the late 1970′s. It was located somewhere in the southwest region of the island.

10. The main logo:
This seems to be the principal DHARMA Initiative logo, corresponding to the initiative as a whole and representing all DHARMA Initiative stations, tests, and activities.

11. The Arrow:
The Arrow was DHARMA initiative station number 2, whose primary purpose was the development of defensive strategies against the Hostiles. The station was an underground bunker or complex constructed into a hillside .

12. The Orchid:
The Orchid was the name given to a DHARMA initiative station dedicated to exotic matter research, namelytime trafel, under the guise of being a botanical research station. The true station was located in an underground chamber.

13. The lamp post.
The Lamp Post was a DHARMA initiative station located in a basement chamber beneath a church in Los Angeles, California in the United States. The station’s purpose was to determine the Island’s most probable location in space and time and identify windows of opportunity to travel there. It was the only known DHARMA station to exist off of the Island.

Now that we have the explination out of the way (I haven’t noticed any relevance in the descriptions, but maybe someone else will notice anything?) I like to take a look at a map in world. It has been posted before, but I can’t find it right now, so I will use one of the pictures XRadiiX has posted on the latest forum:

Now take a look at the mini map; right where he is standing with his enchantress, you will see a shape that sort of looks like the swan, coincidence?

On another note, in the lost ruins you find diffirent kind of symbols, including:Image

Now I don’t know what this is but it’s curious at least, no?

In finding a use v 3.0 there has been a quote from a post (And I couldn’t find the original poster but I think it’s posted by XradiiX – one of the deleted posts)

Again this might just be a coincidence or a stretch, but the screen I showed in #170 not only looks like it has the #8 but also kinda looks like the symbol of the Dharma station “the flame”

“The Flame station itself existed in three parts. The outside was a paddock for cows; inside was a living area, some storage, and a computer room. Underneath a rug was a door to a lower hatch area. This hatch contained DHARMA paperwork and more storage.”

Idk if that symbol is elsewhere in the game, but it’s outside of the aquaduct several times and inside in several places.

  1. i got something to say about vault of the assassin, if u bring enchantress go in, she will quote something like ” this is a magical devices and blah blah blah” when u reach the spot that have the similar device to the chamber of idol.. maybe someone go tryout ? since i dont have all the pages yet

    • Yes that’s true, she talks about how the ancient/magical devices have been ruined by it’s owner. It’s at the same point of the map where it looks like the swan symbol in lost.

I have been there with all the pages and the enchantress and I’m pretty sure I brought Kulle with me as well. Nothing seemed to happen, but I will run through the vault and the ruin levels again with everything on and with kulle on me to re-check it again.

      • there’s also another random map called chamber of the idol, i remember picking a journal by the npc at the front door asking u to bring him to find the idol, the journal said the idol was belongs to kulle as well
