The Hollow Earth in Westobou’s Micro Gallery

Westobou’s MICRO gallery features a whimsical journey to the Hollow Earth for First Friday

With a free opening to the public on Friday, March 1st, artist and illustrator Mikaela Fuchs- pronounced like Fox- will exhibit stylish screen prints in a new show called Into the Hollow Earth at Westobou Gallery.

Inspired by imaginative mythologies about what lies beneath the earth’s surface, Fuchs crafts a colorful and fun alternate universe that borrows from classic children’s book illustration and a childlike sense of wonder.

The show opens First Friday March 1 at 5 p.m. with a reception until 8. Westobou Gallery is located at 1129 Broad St. The reception is free to the public and will feature a performance from Augusta’s Spiritual Uplifters Brass Band outside the gallery and a chance to try Savannah River Brewery’s Down to the Depths Baltic porter and treats from the Crazy Empanada. More information about the show which runs through April 7, is available at www.westobou.org
