Abstract

The laundry device includes a card reader (220) which extracts data recorded an a card (300), a card reader cover (210) having an insertion hole (211 ) into which the card (300) is inserted, and a card guide (230) which is coupled to a rear portion of the card reader cover (210) to guide the card (300) to the card reader (220).
Description
Description LAUNDRY DEVICE
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a commerάal laundry device including a card reader, and more particularly to a commercial laundry device capable of inserting a card to any of card readers having different sizes and shapes by coupling a card guide to the existing card reader. Background Art
[2] Generally, a laundry device is a device for cleaning the laundry through washing, rinsing, water-extracting and drying operations to remove contamination from clothes, bedclothes and the like (hereinafter, referred to as the "laundry"). As representative examples of the laundry device, there are a washing machine, a drying machine and the like.
[3] The laundry devices are classified into a household laundry device and a commercial laundry device according to the use purposes. The household laundry device is disposed in each home to clean the laundry generated by family members. The commercial laundry device is disposed in a commercial quarter to allow the user who desires to clean the laundry to use the laundry device by receiving a fee from the user.
[4] The commercial laundry device is installed in a public place for the profit of a business and is used by consumers. The commercial laundry device is designed and manufactured to have excellent profitability, stability and maintainability compared to the household laundry device.
[5] That is, the commercial laundry device additionally requires a unit for processing fees and a control algorithm of the unit.
[6] Thus, as shown in FIG. 1, a conventional commercial laundry device 10 includes a fee processing unit 20 which is installed at one side thereof to receive a fee from the user and process the fee.
[7] Further, as shown in FIG. 2, the fee processing unit 20 includes a card reader cover
21 and a card reader 22. The card reader cover 21 is connected to the card reader 22. A card 30 is inserted into an insertion hole 23 of the card reader cover 21 and then inserted into the card reader 22 along a guide hole 24 of the fee processing unit.
[8] However, since the card reader 22 is manufactured from various companies and the card reader 22 is formed in different sizes and shapes, there is a problem that it the
card reader cover 21 should be manufactured according to the card reader 22. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[9] Accordingly, the present invention is directed to a laundry device that substantially obviates one or more problems due to limitations and disadvantages of the related art. [10] An object of the present invention is to provide a commercial laundry device capable of inserting a card into the existing card reader cover and, then, guiding the inserted card to different sizes and shapes of card readers. [11] Further, another object of the present invention is to provide a commercial laundry device capable of preventing water from entering into a card reader, thereby preventing the damage of the card reader.
Technical Solution [12] To achieve these objects and other advantages and in accordance with the purpose of the invention, as embodied and broadly described herein, a laundry device includes a card reader which extracts data recorded on a card; a card reader cover having an insertion hole into which the card is inserted; and a card guide which is coupled to a rear portion of the card reader cover to guide the card to the card reader. [13] Further, the card guide is formed corresponding to a shape and a size of the card reader. Accordingly, it is possible to accurately guide the card inserted though the insertion hole to the card reader.
[14] Further, the card guide is detachably coupled to the card reader cover.
[15] Further, a lower surface of the card guide is partially cut away such that water introduced through the insertion hole from an outside is prevented from being introduced into the card reader. [16] Further, the laundry device further includes a control panel for controlling an operation of the laundry device, wherein the card reader cover is formed at a front portion of the control panel.
Advantageous Effects [17] In the above-configured laundry device according to the present invention, the card guide is detachably coupled to the card reader cover. Therefore, it is possible to obtain an effect capable of using an existing card reader cover with different types of card readers. [18] Further, the laundry device has an effect capable of protecting the card reader by cutting away a portion of the lower surface of the card guide to prevent water from
entering into the card reader.

[19] The a-companying drawings, which are included to provide a further understanding of the invention and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this application, illustrate embodiments of the invention and together with the description serve to explain the principle of the invention. Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention [26] Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numbers will be used throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like parts. [27] FIG. 3 illustrates an exploded perspective view of a laundry device according to the present invention. [28] As shown in FIG. 3, a laundry device 100 according to the present invention performs washing, rinsing, water-extracting and drying operations of the laundry by water, a detergent and mechanical action to remove contamination from the laundry. [29] However, the laundry device 100, which is installed in a public place for the profit of an investor and is used by consumers, includes a fee processing unit which is installed at one side thereof in order to receive a fee from the user and process the fee. [30] The fee processing unit includes a coin box (not shown) and a card reader 220 as a means for collecting fees. The coin box allows fee payment using coins and the card reader 220 allows fee payment using an electric payment means sich as a magnetic card or an K card.
[31] Accordingly, when desired washing course and time period are selected by the user, the commercial laundry device is available only when an appropriate fee is paid to the fee processing unit according to the selected washing course and time period. [32] Further, a control panel 110 having a number of control buttons and a display is disposed on a front upper portion of the laundry device 100 to allow the user to control the washing operation. [33] It is preferable that the card reader 220 according to the present invention is disposed inside the control panel 110. [34] FIG. 4 illustrates a perspective view of main portions of the laundry device having a card guide according to the embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 5 illustrates a plan view of main portions of the laundry device having a card guide according to the embodiment of the present invention. [35] The laundry device 100 according to the present invention includes the card reader
220 for extracting data recorded on the card 300, a card reader cover 210 having an insertion hole 211 into which the card 300 is inserted, and a card guide 230 which is coupled to the rear of the card reader cover 210 to guide a card to the card reader 220. [36] The card reader 220 is disposed in the laundry device 100 to extract data recorded in the card 300. [37] The detailed description of the card reader 220 is omitted since the card reader 220 is a general card reader which is a well-known technology. [38] The card reader cover 210 is protruded from the front of the control panel 110. The opposite ends of the card reader cover 210 are hooked by the control panel 110. The card reader cover 210 includes the insertion hole 211 into which the card 300 is inserted. [39] At least one hollow fastening boss portion 213 is protrudingly formed on an inner peripheral surface of the card reader cover 210 sich that a fastening member suoh as a bolt is fastened thereto. [40] The fastening boss portion 213 includes a plurality of fastening boss portions which are spaced from each other by a certain distance on the card reader cover 210. [41] The card guide 230 is coupled to the rear of the card reader cover 210 to guide the card 300 to the card reader 220. [42] Thus, preferably, the card guide 230 is formed corresponding to the shape and size of the card reader 220 to axurately guide the card 300 inserted though the insertion hole 211 to the card reader 220. [43] Further, the card guide 230 is detadiably coupled to the card reader cover 210. The
card guide 230 is coupled to the card reader cover 210 to fit the shape or position of the card reader 220.
[44] Thus, it is possible to remove the trouble caused by separately producing the card reader cover 210 to fit the shape or position of the card reader 220. Also, it is possible to reduce the cost.
[45] Further, when the card reader cover 210 is disposed on the control panel 110, it is unnecessary to entirely change the control panel 110 according to the card reader 220.
[46] FIG. 6 illustrates a perspective view of a card guide according to another embodiment of the present invention.
[47] As shown in FIG. 6, according to another embodiment of the present invention, a lower surface of the card guide 230 is partially cut away to prevent water introduced through the insertion hole 211 from being introduced into the card reader 220.
[48] Accordingly, although water may enter into the insertion hole 211 of the card reader cover 210 when water is spilled on the laundry device, it is possible to prevent water from entering into the card reader 220 by dropping water through the cutaway portion of the lower surface, thereby protecting the card reader 220.
[49] That is, it is preferable that the card guide 230 is disposed near the card reader 220 to accurately guide the inserted card to the card reader 220. While the inserted card is guided to the card reader, since a portion of the lower surface of the card guide 230 is cut away, it is possible to prevent water from entering into the card reader 220.
[50] An end portion of the lower surface of the card guide 230 is cut away to be recessed to a certain depth, thereby preventing water from entering into the card reader 220.
[51] Further, in yet another embodiment of the present invention, a through hole may be formed on the lower surface of the card guide 230 such that water introduced into the card guide 230 can be dropped to the bottom through the through hole.
[52] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made in the present invention without departing from the spirit or scope of the inventions. Thus, it is intended that the present invention covers the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
Claims
[1] A laundry device comprising: a card reader which extracts data recorded on a card; a card reader cover having an insertion hole into which the card is inserted; and a card guide which is coupled to a rear portion of the card reader cover to guide the card to the card reader, wherein the card guide is detachably coupled to the card reader cover.
[2] The laundry device according to claim 1, wherein the card guide is formed corresponding to a shape and a size of the card reader.
[3] The laundry device according to claim 1 , wherein a lower surface of the card guide is partially cut away such that water introduced through the insertion hole from an outside is prevented from being introduced into the card reader.
[4] The laundry device according to claim 1, wherein a lower surface of the card guide has a through hole such that water introduced through the insertion hole from an outside is prevented from being introduced into the card reader.
[5] The laundry device according to claim 1, further comprising a control panel for controlling an operation of the laundry device, wherein the card reader cover is formed at a front portion of the control panel.
[6] The laundry device according to claim 6, wherein the card reader is disposed inside the control panel.
