Abstract

The invention relates to a desk with a desk top, which is mounted on desk legs in a manner that enables its height to be adjusted, for at least two different uses, of which one consists of using it as a computer desk. Description

Work table for different uses

The invention relates to a work table with a table legs in particular adjustable overlapping table top for at least two different uses, one of which consists in use as a PC work table.

The invention deals with the following problem.

In educational establishments such as schools in particular special rooms are provided for EDP teaching, in which work desks are equipped for use as a PC work desks with particular screens and computer keyboards. The PC system units are either attached to the tables or simply stand on the floor in the form of so-called PC tower. These desks can not be used for such purposes with such equipment. If PCs are to be present in normal classrooms and schools, additional tables for such PCs have to be accommodated there. Such work desks, on which the screens of PCs are set up for use, result in lesson attendants being barely visible to the teacher behind the screens.

The teaching in the presence of several PC's is usually affected by the fact that the PC's in operation by their fans develop a considerable noise that must drown out the teacher.

Furthermore, the open standing on such desks PC's are vulnerable to wanton or accidental damage.

On this basis, the invention proposes a work table with all features of claim 1, by which the problems outlined above are largely eliminated in a simple and secure manner.

Advantageous and expedient embodiments are the subject of the subclaims explained in more detail below.

The invention is based on the following general idea.

All devices and devices that are relevant for EDP use, in particular teaching events, can be safely and externally locked inside the worktable according to the invention, whereby the worktable can then be stored as normal - not IT-specific - workbench. Beitstisch can be used. For storing in the interior of the work table of the work table is provided with facilities that allow easy insertion and folding of those computer equipment that must be accessible or visible from the outside when using the computer system to the work table. The device box 2 is used for a lockable outside of the work table storage of a self-sufficient usable ^' computer system with in particular a screen 4 and a PC system unit 5. With the help of the hinge device 7, which is shown in Figures 3 and 5 in two different variants, the screen 4 from a horizontal storage position completely within the work table in an upwardly projecting viewing position for a workbench user through a corresponding opening 8 can be folded out within the table top 1. For closing the opening 8 serves a swinging table flap 9. In a storage position of the screen 4 within the work table, the table flap 9 closes the opening 8, whereby a table top 1 is present with a total closed, flat surface.

The sliding plate 6 for receiving in particular the PC keyboard is mounted in a drawer-shaped displaceable in the work table. Pulled out of the interior of the work table, the sliding plate 6 can be through a side wall opening 10. This side wall opening 10 can be closed with a side wall flap 11 which can be pivoted downwards on the work table. In the open state, this side wall flap serves as a support for the area of the sliding plate 6 moved out of the worktable.

The side wall flap 11 may be equipped with a locking mechanism which automatically locks the table flap 9 in its locked state when closed. In such an embodiment, the table flap 9 can only be opened with an opened side wall flap 11. As a result, in the work tables according to the invention a central locking can be achieved, which can be actuated exclusively by the closure of the side wall flap 11.

In the work table, a commercial PC, that is, personal computer can be used, being a PC with a particularly compact housing is particularly well suited. As such computers, for example, Sitiall Form Factor PC can be used. The equipment details of the PC can be selected by the user in detail. In principle, a PC can be selected in practically any form, if it is a small format, and built into the table.

To minimize the noise pollution caused by a built-in PC, the PC is built into the table using sound absorbing material. The installation space for the PC system unit 5 is located in a laterally adjacent to the sliding plate 6 space of the device box 2. To the PC, that is, the system unit 5 of the PC to supply the necessary cooling air, are behind the room, the PC system unit 5 receives, two insulated by particular baffles air ducts 12, 13, one of which is to the cooling air and the other for removal from the PC system unit 5, or its power supply unit used. Through the use of sound-absorbing material when storing the PC system unit 5 a high noise insulation is ensured to the outside. The air flow through the air channels 12, 13 is ensured by a particularly quiet fan installed in the respective air duct 13, 14, not shown in the drawing. The cooling air is guided so that it enters on one side in the PC system unit 5, where it follows the airway structurally provided in this system unit and is carried out by the PC power supply fan on the other side. The fan in the air duct supports the network partial fan of the PC. The air ducts simultaneously serve as cable channels, which open into a central cable channel 14 on the rear side of the device box 2. From this central cable channel 14 lead in a conventional manner by example, the table legs 3 outwardly leading connection channels, which are not shown in the drawing.

From the integration of a PC in the work table, there is the problem that, for example, built-in CD drives and other connections from the outside are not readily accessible. This problem is inventively solved in that external CD drives or connection boxes are used. These can be mounted on the PC keyboard receiving slide plate β, whereby they are accessible when pulling the slide plate 6 from the front.

The entire upper table top 1 is hingedly attached to the device box 2 to perform maintenance on the PC elements and to make the cable channel 14 accessible. The table top 1 can only be opened via a hidden unlocking, which can be reached only accessible, for example, when the sliding plate

6 is pulled out.

As screens 4 basically only flat screens are used. The screen 4 is equipped with a hinge device

The lever mechanism, that is, the hinge device 7, with which the screen 4 is pivotally mounted in the device box is designed so that it is as flat as possible in the folded state, however, when unfolding the screen 4 can raise slightly, so that the lower edge - and if necessary, there attached control buttons of the screen - just above the work surface can protrude. The lever mechanism (Fig. 3, 5) in the form of the hinge device 7 brings the screen 4 in the unfolded state in an optimal ergonomic position for the user in terms of distance and height.

The lever mechanism formed by the hinge device 7 is designed in the usual way so that it can hold the screen 4 in any position, so that the screen 4 can not fall back by itself in the horizontal storage position, which could possibly be damaged. This also allows the screen 4 can be folded by the user in different angles, for example, to avoid reflections.

The joint device 7 can be formed together with the table flap 9 as a separately manageable and mountable module, which as such on the work table can be attached both to the table top and in principle at the bottom of the device box.

The screen can preferably be folded out only when the side panel flap 11 is open on the front side wall of the work table. When the side panel flap 11 is closed, the table flap 9 is locked above the screen 7. The sliding plate 6, which is practically a drawer for the PC keyboard and therefore can also be referred to as a keyboard drawer, hides in the inserted state behind a hinged side wall flap 11. This side wall flap 11 is secured with a lock, which can be fernentriegelbar or only opens when power is released from the workstation for a central switch. The lock is connected to the table flap 9 for covering the screen 4, so that the image can only be flattened when the side wall flap 11 is unlocked.

When the side wall flap 11 is opened, the sliding plate 6, that is, in other words, the keyboard drawer, can be pulled out. The folded down side wall flap 11 then serves as a support for the sliding plate 6. The sliding plate 6 can be pulled out so far that the complete PC keyboard is located in front of the front of the work table.

The keyboard drawer in the form of the slide plate 6 may be designed to be deep enough to the left and right of the display holder to mount on it PC peripherals such as a CD drive or a device with card readers and USB ports can. These devices move with the sliding plate 6, so that they are flush in the extended state of the sliding plate 6 with the front edge of the work table. In the retracted state, these devices are protected in the depth of the work table, that is within the device box 2. Specifically, the joint device 7, which comprises a first and a second telescopic rod 15 or 16 and a total of six joints, namely in each case three stationary and three movable joints (17 to 22), is composed as follows.
