INFORMATION SHARING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING CONTENTS
USING THE SAME
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to an information sharing system and a method for display content using the same, and more particularly, to an information sharing system, which provides a login screen with content and a login information input window combined with each other, and a method for displaying content using the same.
BACKGROUND ART
It is often the case that, in performing various business tasks, each department of a company builds a system tailored to their own particular needs in order to effectively perform associated tasks. For instance, a sales department might build a sales assistant system for quickly retrieving information of companies and individuals who have business relations with its own company or department or information on the price and quantity of products sold, or a personnel department might build a personnel information system for efficiently managing personal information including addresses, phone numbers and so on, of employees or information relating to title or job.
Besides such systems, there may be built a system for exchanging opinions or sharing information between employees
or for processing tasks such as payment, mailing and so on.
Typical examples thereof include groupware or a Knowledge
Management System (KMS) . These systems are often referred to as information sharing systems. Groupware is software that groups of people use together, which is referred to as groupware because it is designed to assist groups of people working together. Such groupware is installed in a personal computer
(PC) or workstation connected to a local area network (LAN) .
Using groupware, computer users in a company can digitally collaborate on tasks including document preparation, payment, filing, etc. through personal computers connected via a communication network such as a LAN.
A Knowledge Management System (KMS) refers to an enterprise information sharing system for enhancing enterprise competitiveness by systematizing and sharing individual knowledge cumulated by human resources in an organization. This system can provide appropriate people with appropriate knowledge at appropriate times so that a company' s or organization' s knowledge may be accumulated for easy use and the corresponding knowledge may be used for company strategy or policy planning or decision making by allowing intellectual wealth of the human resources of an organization to be efficiently accumulated and utilized by the company.
A schematic construction of such an information sharing system will be described with reference to the accompanying
drawings .
FIG. 1 illustrates a schematic overview diagram of a general information sharing system. Referring to FIG. 1, a multiplicity of users 10 including, in-house executives and employees, outsourced executives and employees and branch office executives and employees, of a company, connect to an information sharing system 40 via a communication network 30 such as an internet by using a personal computer 20 in or outside the company to process desired tasks. At this point, when the user accesses the information sharing system, they are usually provided with a login screen for entering a username and a password. This is necessary to ensure that the user is authorized to use the information sharing system.
From the standpoint of a company employing a large number of employees, it is often the case that the employees require education on important issues including management principles and management policies according to various needs . To offer this education, the company utilizes a variety of methods.
For example, a notice for education is created and put up on a notice board or the corresponding notice is posted in an electronic document format on an electronic bulletin board of an information sharing system such as groupware or a Knowledge Management System (KMS) .
However, if the education notice is posted on a notice board there is the possibility that not every employee will
happen to chance up the education notice, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the education notice and, in turn, the effectiveness of company education programs. Further, in the event the education is not offered just once but needs to be continued in series, there is an inconvenience of having to change the content of the notice whenever educational content is modified.
Moreover, posting on the electronic bulletin board of the information sharing system means one-side positing, so many users connecting to the information sharing system are not likely to read the notice, which results in reduces the effectiveness of company education programs .

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
A preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description, well-known functions or constructions are not described in detail since they would
obscure the invention in unnecessary detail, and therefore, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
FIG. 2 is a block diagram of an information sharing system according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 2, the information sharing system comprises a content database 200, a user analyzer 210, a content setting unit 220, and a login controller 230.
The content database 200 stores content combined with a login information input window (username and password input box) of the information sharing system. The aforementioned content includes at least one of text, image and moving image (especially, flash presentations) . Preferably, the content is stored in a specific folder of a web server operating the information sharing system. Such content may be image files comprising educational material of management principles and management policies, and the details and format thereof may be configured in a series according to various purposes. Further, a plurality of content files may be configured in a series. Preferably, such content files include images such as fun characters or cartoons of situations or persons involving the educational content. The content is automatically and periodically replaced with content files corresponding to the next curriculum in conformity with a certain educational process by the login controller 230 to be described later.
The user analyzer 210 stores, manages and analyzes information of a user attempting access or having entered in to the information sharing system. The entered user information includes a username and password for logging in to the information sharing system or information such as department, position, etc., which is stored, managed and analyzed. For instance, analysis may be performed to determine what percentage of users of the information sharing system are logged in or whether or not every user of a specific department has logged in using the information of previously logged-in users . The data thus analyzed are provided to the content setting unit 220 to be described later.
At this point, the number of users having logged-in is stored in a field storing a number of logins added in the user information by incrementing the number whenever a user logs in, and the number of users having logged-in is determined by a stored value, which can be implemented by a program.
The stored number of logins differs according to a user. This number of logins can be used only for determining whether a user has logged in or not regardless of the number of logins . In this case, the number of users having logged in can be known. Also, the users whose number of logins falls within the bottom 10% (or top 10%) can be extracted. In this case, the information of the extracted users can be analyzed and used as analysis data for extracting corresponding content.
Moreover, it is possible to determine whether or not a logged in user is a user belonging to a particular group by comparing the user information stored in the database of the information sharing system and department information or username of the logged in user.
The content setting unit 220 extracts content to be provided to a user from the content database 200 using the analysis data provided from the user analyzer 210.
The use of analysis data by the content setting unit 220 will be described by way of several examples. For reference, the content provided to a user accessing to the information sharing system has a series of curriculums according to the educational content. A time point of transition between the curriculums (transition from previous curriculum to next curriculum) is required so that this series of curriculums may be sequentially conducted.
Although such a time point of transition differs according to an educational goal or information of a logged-in user or the like, it will be described herein with respect to a time point when a number of logged-in users is greater than a predetermined number, a time point when every user belonging to a specific group logs in, or a specific time point when logins are concentrated.
In the event that the analysis data provided from the user analyzer 210 shows that at least 70% of the users have logged
into the information sharing system, it is determined that more than half of the users have viewed the content provided at first, and therefore new content corresponding to the next curriculum is extracted from the content database 200. In the event that the analysis data provided from the user analyzer 210 shows that every user of the sales department has logged rn at least once, new content for the other departments is extracted from the database 200.
In the event that the analysis data provided from the user analyzer 210 shows that the times when the users access and log in to the information sharing system are concentrated at about 9 AM, the content corresponding to that AM time period is extracted from the database 200.
The login controller 230 combines the content extracted by the content setting unit 220 with the login information input window and provides the combined information to users . In order to do this, the login controller 230 calls a function for loading the content extracted by the content setting unit 220 when providing a login screen of the information sharing system to the users. Such a function can be implemented by a script, and preferably is added to the source code of a login screen web page of the information sharing system.
Moreover, the login controller 230 is able to set a start date when content starts to be provided to users or a predetermined period of time as shown in the following function,
and therefore content to be extracted can be replaced by new content according to a set date or period of time. <HTML> <HEAD> <SCRIPT language=javascript> Function loadlmage () { //set start date var t_date=newDate ( Λ2005/06/01' ) ; var t_date2 =newDate ( ) ; var day = 1000*3600*24;
//set predetermined time period var diff=parselnt ( (parselnt (t_date2.getTime () /day)
-parselnt (t_date.getTime () /day) -1) 7) var index= (diff%31) +1;
//display content on screen below document.all .imgdiv. innerHTML="<image src=. /eposter/"+index
+".jpg>";} </SCRIPT>
</HEAD>
<BODY onload=loadlmage () ;>
<DIV id=imgdiv></DIVX/BODY>
</HTML> This function for loading content can be modified so as
to change the content extracted from the content database 200 by the content setting unit 220.
Also, it is possible that when a user who has logged in to the information sharing system requests access to modify an electronic bulletin board, the user is also provided with the content on the initial screen of the electronic bulletin board.
As described above, this can be implemented by adding a script function for loading content to the source code of the web page corresponding to the initial screen of the electronic bulletin board.
FIGs. 3 to 5 are views explaining a login screen combined with content in the information sharing system according to the embodiment of the present invention.
First, FIG. 3 illustrates a login screen of a typical information sharing system. The typical login screen consists of a corporate logo image and a login information input window for receiving a username and a password entered by a user accessing the information sharing system.
FIG. 4 illustrates content of the information sharing system according to the embodiment of the present invention. A description of the content has been made before, so a repetitive description will be omitted.
FIG. 5 illustrates a login screen with content and a login information input window combined with each other in the information sharing system according to the embodiment of the
present invention. As shown in the figure, when a user attempts access to the information sharing system, the user is provided with a login screen with content and a login information input window (username and password input box) combined with each other.
FIG. 6 is a flow chart for explaining a method for displaying content of the information sharing system according to the embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 6, the login controller 230 checks if there is a request for accessing the information sharing system from a user (SIl) . Upon checking if there is an access request, the login controller 230 checks if there is analysis data according to user information from the user analyzer 210 (S12) . If there is analysis data, the content setting unit 220 extracts content from the content database 200 using the analysis data (S13), and the login controller 230 combines the extracted content with the login information input window (S14) and displays the content on the user access screen (S15) . If there is no analysis data, the login controller 230 extracts basic set content (S13a) , couples it to the login information input window (S14) , and displays it on the user access screen (S15) .
Then, the user provided with the login screen containing the extracted content logs in to the information sharing system
(Slβ) , the user analyzer 210 stores, manages and analyzes the information of the logged-in user (S17) , and provides analysis
data to the content setting unit 220 (S18) .
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
As described above, the present invention has an advantage in that every user attempting to log in to the information sharing system can recognize intuitively at a glance by providing the user with a login screen of the information sharing system including content using information of the user accessing or logging in to the information sharing system, thereby maximizing educational effect.
Further, there is an advantage in that the administrator of the information sharing system does not need to change content one by one by allowing content to be automatically replaced using information of a user accessing or logging in to the information sharing system.
