This consists of the event agency system that provides information on the goods and contents of the event to the event server and receives payments from a reserve fund of the purchase reservation coupon after shipping the reward to prizewinners; the event server system that includes an event management department to build the event page to link to agency sites and each affiliated site, a coupon issuer department that issues lottery numbers for each purchase reservation coupon as users buy specific purchase reservation coupons, a lottery department to draw lucky mumbers after the closing of the event, a settling department to settle the price of the purchase reservation coupon and payments to the agency, a coupon certifier department to certify a purchase with a non-winning purchase reservation coupon; the affiliated site system that posts information on the event linked to the event server; and a user system that participates in the event by purchasing the specific purchase reservation coupon and receives discounts when purchasing with the purchase reservation coupon after the event.

Description

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EVENT MARKETING
Field and Background of the Invention
The invention maybe described as an advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services over the Internet that not only facilitates advertising and marketing of goods over the Internet, but also secures members and buyers more effectively by providing gift-event services through the linking of a number of affiliated web sites, as well as price cut-offs with pre-mileage services for reserving customers.
With the rapid increase of Internet users and the recent improvements in computer systems and IT, more and more web sites are moving into the Internet businesses of contents provision, shopping malls, or community-building, which gradually activate e-commerce. Web sites of this nature need to secure a number of visitors or members in order to enhance the site's value and profitability. Accordingly, lots of web sites run various events, including free gift-events, to secure as many members within a short period. Those that do not run gift-events suffer from a low visitor count.
This practice of running free gift-events results in excessive marketing expenses without much profit.
Free gift-events are very burdensome, except for large sites or businesses, and the expenses incurred are usually transferred to consumers by adding to the prices of goods and services.
In particular, gift-events up to now are generally unreliable, resulting in low customer participation and an extremely rare ratio of winning numbers. This is because they provide lottery numbers without limitation, depending on the participation or pre- purchasing, and draw lots from that pool.
Another problem is that gift-events and sales are not organically connected, resulting in failure to secure the participating customers as future customers. Technical Objective of This Invention

As a computer system of the manufacturer or supplier who sells goods online or offline, the agency system (20) has the function of transferring various information via computer network, which includes the event building department (21) where the request for event building occurs by transmitting information on the goods and the event (Specifications, price, terms of the event, kinds of goods for sale, closing conditions of the event, order of rewards, whether an event is jointly held, etc.) to the event server system (10) and the delivery department (22) that ships the rewards to the prizewinners.
When the agency system (20) runs an agency web site for selling various goods over the Internet, the requested event may be posted through the event window (25) to directly induce customer participation.
The agency system (20) or the event server system (10) has an event building program which allows them to register information on goods and to build the contents of the event easily. As a computer system that operates service sites (shopping malls, search engines, content sites, etc.) over the Internet, the affiliate system (30), linked to the event server (10), can facilitate the customer's visit and securing of membership by posting the appropriate event in an event window (35) in its web site. In addition, the affiliated business can join the event server (10) as a member, and can have an appropriate event linked to its web site, registering its own service contents and recommended event.
Accordingly, an agency can have the chance to advertise its goods through relevant affiliated web sites as well as secure customers easily.
The said user system (40), as a computer system having connection to the Internet or network, participates in the event through the event window (25,35) posted on the agency site or numerous affiliate sites.
Accordingly, users may participate in various events through any site he/she contacts without transferring to another, and pursue benefits from pre-mileage and price cut-off by buying the purchase reservation coupon. For the user's participation, the user system (40) includes the joining department (41) where members of the system (web site) are registered by transmitting personal and other requested information to the event server system (10), the affiliated system (30), or the agency system (20); the coupon purchasing department (42) to transmit selection and purchasing information on the purchase reservation coupon to the event server; the settling department (43) to settle the payment to the event server through the settlement system; the mail confirming department to check secure mail information like lottery numbers or winning information from the event server (10); and the shipment confirming department (44) to transmit the information whether the reward has been delivered to the event server (10). The user system (40) allows the information of the purchase reservation coupon (Information on the event, identification of the purchase reservation coupon, purchase price and the lottery number) issued by the event server (10) to be used for winner confirmation or for purchase of goods later on by saving the information on the system. On the other hand, the event server system (10), as a computer system consisting of system DB (17) which manages the storage of information on members and member companies, goods, events, and purchase reservation coupon, the event management department (11), the coupon issuer department (12), the settling department (13), the lottery department (14) and the secure mail transmitting department (15), operates the event agency home page and indicates various event pages (16) over the Internet.
The event management department (11) builds the contents and pages (16) of an event in accordance to what is requested by the agency system (20), links this to the event window (25) of the agency site, and links to the event window (35) of the appropriate affiliated sites selected in pursuance of service information of the affiliates, classifying the built event by kinds of rewards and composition.
In addition, the event management department (11) may build a joint event in liaison with another agency that satisfies the condition of the event, when the agent requests the holding of a joint event with other agencies. The coupon issuer department (12) issues the purchase reservation coupon and the corresponding lottery number as a user participates in the event by purchasing a specific (upper and lower limits of buyable coupon [amount]) purchase reservation coupon, keeps the information (information on the event, identification of the coupon, purchased price or number) in storage, and notifies the user of the relevant information via secure mail.
At this point, the coupon issuer department (12) may calculate and indicate in graph form the ratio of winning numbers per purchased number of coupons, considering the number of participants and the size of the event.
The event server (10) may,' at the agency's request or by contract, set up several conditions of the closing (or the size of the event) by period or amount of purchase reservation coupon sold, and may terminate the receipt of the event by changing the size or period of the event after checking whether any of the conditions are met.
The lottery department (14) disseminates the information on the termination via e-mail to users, and draws lots through a specific method utilizing objective data (stock quotation index, etc.) when the event meets specific conditions of closing or is reduced in size.
The settling department (13) settles the account of payments of the purchase reservation coupon through the settlement system (50), deposits these in a bank as the reserve fund, and pays the reward from the reserved fund after the completion of the event and shipment.
On the other hand, Fig. 2 outlines the purchasing system through the purchase reservation coupon of this invention, whose method is described as follows:
The event server system (10) includes the coupon certifier department (18) and the user information changing department (19), which certifies the purchase reservation coupon by comparing the information transmitted from the affiliated business or the agency system (20) with the information stored in the system DB (17) and deletes, changes or manages the relevant information as the user utilizes the purchase reservation coupon to buy goods.
The user system (40) includes the purchasing department (45) and the settling department (46), which transmits the information on the selected goods, the purchase reservation coupon and the range of use to the dealing site (the affiliated sites or the agency site), and which settles the account through the online settlement system (50) by taking off the spent amount of the purchase reservation coupon. The agency system (20) or the affiliated system (30) includes the coupon confirming department (23,31) which transmits the information on the purchase reservation coupon from the user system (40) to the event server system (10) in order to certify, the settling department (24,32) which settles the account of the goods by taking off the spent amount of the purchase reservation coupon, and the delivery department
(26,33) which ships the goods to the user. The agency system (20) or the affiliated system (30) may restrict the usable amount of the purchase reservation coupon to a certain ratio of the payment depending on the profit and inventory.
The following is an explanation of the advertising and marketing method of the invention based on Fig. 3a and Fig. 3d. As depicted in Fig. 3 a, the agency system (20) requests the advertising and marketing of goods to the event server (10), providing information on the goods and the event (order of rewards, price, number of winners, period of the event, whether to hold a joint event, the closing condition, etc.).
Accordingly, the event server system (10) analyzes the requested information, and decides whether to request a joint event from the agencies.
When a joint event is requested, the event server system (10) picks the agencies that meet the requested conditions regarding the joint event, builds the joint event consisting of the goods of the agencies, and facilitates mutual adjustments by notifying the appropriate agencies. When the agencies approve the joint event (kinds and order of the rewards, etc.), the event server (10) may proceed with the joint event, and when the approval is not acquired, may build another joint event associating different agencies by reiterating the S304 stages.
Upon deciding the contents and structure as requested by the agency, the event server (10) builds the event page (16) to indicate over the Internet, and keeps this in storage in the system DB (17).
Regarding the online service information of the affiliated sites, the event server system (10) selects the affiliated sites that relate to the event in the kind of rewards and formation among the member sites, and links the event page (16) to the event window (35) of the affiliated sites and agency sites.
The information on the event (and goods) is indicated to netizens via numerous web sites, which facilitates the agency's advertisement of the goods and acquisition of customers, as well as affiliated sites to expand visitors and members.
On the other hand, when a user wants to participate in the event (i.e. to buy goods), he/she may click the event window (25,35), which leads to the activation of the event page (16) linked to indicate detailed information on the event and the goods.
Fig. 4 shows an example of the event page for the purchase of the purchase reservation coupon and member registration.
After checking the rewards, the method of the event and the usage of the purchase reservation coupon on the event page, the user may reserve the purchase of a certain product (or other goods of the affiliated business or agency) by inserting his or her personal information (Name, Address, Phone Number, E-mail Address, etc.), settlement information with the number or amount of the purchase reservation coupon. In that case, the number or amount of the purchase reservation coupon per person may be restricted by the upper or lower limits.
At this point, the event server (10) may induce the participant to join the affiliated sites by requesting member ID (or registration) for the site now connected.
The event server system (10) settles the account of the purchase reservation coupon through the settlement system (50) used by the user, or when not settled, cancels the reservation. In addition, the event server system (10) deposits in the settlement system (50) the payments for the purchase reservation coupon as the reserve fund for the agencies.
The event server system (10) issues a lottery number for each purchase reservation coupon, and notifies the user system (40) of the relevant information (information on the event, identification of the purchase reservation coupon, or the lottery number, etc.) via secure mail.
When a certain number of users participate in the event for a specific period through the above-mentioned S313 stage or S319 stage, the event server system (10) decides whether the closing conditions are met. The closing condition may be set up for each stage on the basis of a specific period as follows:
Suppose that the total event size is 30 million Won (30 sets of computer) for 4 weeks. The specific event size may be set up for each week (1st week: 5 sets / 5 million won, 1 —2nd week: 10 sets / 10 million won, 1 —3rd week: 20 sets / 20 million won, 1 — 4th week: 30 sets / 30 million won), and the event will be terminated when any of the two conditions is met first. When the target amount of the purchase reservation coupon is not achieved within 4 weeks, the size of the event may be reduced to the present volume of participation in order to close. The purchase reservation coupon that exceeds the size for each week may be carried forward to the next week. Thus, when certain closing conditions are met or when a certain period has elapsed by reducing the size of the event, the event server system (10) closes the event and terminates receipt.
Then the event server system (10) indicates on the event page (16) and the event window (25,35), and notifies the user of information on the event (number of participants, and date of drawing lots, etc.).
When the event is closed as above, the event server system (10) draw lots to decide the winners by a specific method.
The method of drawing lots may utilize a graph of stock quotation index in order to secure objective fairness and reliability and to prevent artificial manipulation. In other words, the lucky number may be calculated by the combination of two decimals of the stock quotation index of KSE and KOSDAQ of the day following the day the planned amount is achieved.
After the winners are selected as above, the event server system (10) requests the agency to ship the appropriate rewards by transmitting the information on the lucky number, the person and the purchase reservation coupon to the agency system (20).
The event server system (10) then settles the account of the payment of the goods from the reserve fund when the winner notifies the event server (10) of the delivery.
With this invention, the customer who won can buy an expensive good with a small purchase reservation coupon, and the agency can sell its goods easily through the gift-event.
On the other hand, after the drawing of lots and delivery of goods are completed, the event server system (10) deletes the right attached to the winning purchase reservation coupon, and certifies and manages the non-winning purchase reservation coupon when the user wants to use it later on, by which the non- winning users are induced to become potential buyers of the agent or the affiliated sites.
Fig. 3d is a flowchart describing the purchasing process of a user through the affiliated sites or the agency utilizing the purchase reservation coupon.
First of all, depending on whether the purchase reservation coupon is used for the event goods (or the goods of the agency), a user may use the purchase reservation coupon at the agency site, or may use various affiliated sites including the agency site.
The usable range is managed through the information on the purchase reservation coupon (relevant event or identification of the purchase reservation coupon) stored in the user system (40) and the event server system (10). Accordingly, the user connects to and selects the goods to buy at the site where he/she can use the purchase reservation coupon, and inputs the information of the purchase reservation coupon and price or amount.
The system of the web site (the affiliated sites or the agency site) (20, 30) decides whether the price or amount is within the range of the specified ratio, and requires the use of the purchase reservation coupon within that range. The system of the connected site (20,30) confirms the fairness of the purchase reservation coupon by sending the information to the event server system (10).
When confirmed, the user system (40) settles the payment less the amount discounted from the purchase reservation coupon.
Then the system of the connected site (20,30) sends the usage information on the purchase reservation coupon to the event server system (10), which manages the license of the purchase reservation coupon by either deleting or changing.
The method of advertising and marketing for goods through a gift-event service will be described below through examples.
<Example 1>
Agency A, who wants to market through a gift-event, holds a gift-event in the amount of 100 million won of W-cash (the purchase reservation coupon), by registering to the event server system (10) an event for 100 sets of computer with a current price of 1 million won per set and a margin ratio of 10%.
At the request, the event server system (10) builds the event page, and links this to each affiliated sites for posting at the same time with the agency site.
Users connected to the affiliated sites or the agency site participates in the event by purchasing W-cash (the purchase reservation coupon) between the minimum amount of 10,000 won and a maximum amount of 100,000 won after seeing the posted event.
Accordingly, the event server (10) issues receipts bearing lottery numbers for each W-cash worth 10,000 won.
When the scheduled amount (100 million won for 100 sets of computer) of W- cash is reached or previously established closing conditions are met, the event server system (10) closes the event and draws the lots through a specified method (utilizing the stock quotation index).
Then agency A ships the computer set to each winner and receives the scheduled 100 million won from the reserve fund deposited in an online financial institute. Afterwards, a user can still get a price cut-off within the range of his or her non-winning W-cash when he or she buys goods from the affiliated sites or the agency site in the future.
For example, two users each buy computer sets worth 1 million won from a shopping mall in an affiliated site. If user 1 bought one W-cash, he or she pays one W- cash and a balance of 990,000 won, and if user 2 holds 10 W-cashes, he or she pays 10 W-cashes and the balance of 900,000 won.
<Example 2> Fig. 5 is a table diagram exemplifies the composition of a joint event, by which an agency may build a joint event in which various goods are at stake in association with other agencies.
As this event is indicated to netizens over the Internet through the numerous affiliated sites, users may participate in the event by buying the purchase reservation coupon (W-cash) between a minimum of 10,000 won and a maximum of 100,000 won.
The event server system (10) issues 60,000 sheets of 10,000 won W-cash, deposits the reserve fund of 600 million won for the payment of rewards, and issues receipts that bear lottery numbers for each W-cash.
The event server (10) draws 12365 lucky numbers until the 60,000th sheet of W-cash is issued and closes the event.
Then the agencies ship the items to the winner after receiving payments for the registered goods from the reserved fund.
Non-winning customers may purchase other items from the affiliated web site with their W-cash. If the availability of the W-cash is restricted to 10% by the affiliated web site, (e.g. one may only use a W-cash to pay 100,000 won for a 1 million won travel ticket), user 1 having 100,000 won-bill W-cash will additionally pay 9.9 million won to buy a 10 million won car, and user 2 having 70,000 won-bill W-cash may buy a 1 million won travel ticket by paying an additional 930,000 won.
In case user 3 has 10,000 won-bill W-cash, and wants to buy digital money worth 50,000 won, and the W-cash availability for the digital money is restricted to 5,000 won or 10% of the price, he or she may buy the digital money with 5,000 won of W-cash and pay an additional 45,000 won. His balance of 5,000 won W-cash can at any time be used in affiliated sites in which he/she is a member or in the event server system (10). This invention, not restricted to the above examples, may be modified in various ways as far as the concept permits
Effectiveness of the Invention
Utilizing the invention as described above, the agency and the affiliated
Internet businesses can not only reduce the expenses of advertising and marketing, but also secure customers and members effectively.
And with the pre-mileage service that allows a participant to buy an expensive premium with a small amount and secures the participant as a potential purchaser, Internet businesses may provide an optimum environment for purchasing and enhance their profitability through the activated e-commerce.

Claims

ClaimsThe following claims are made:
1. The invention, an Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through a gift-event services, features the following: an agency system which allows an event agency to provide information on the goods and contents of the event to the event server, ships the rewards to winners upon receiving their information from the event server, and receives payments from the reserve fund of the purchase reservation coupon; an event server system that includes the event management department which builds the event page and its contents as requested by the agency system and which manages this by linking to agency sites and each affiliated sites, the coupon issuer department which issues and manages the purchase reservation coupons and lottery numbers as users buy specific purchase reservation coupons to participate in the event, a lottery department to draw lucky numbers after the closing of the event through a specific way of drawing, the settling department to settle the price of the purchase reservation coupon and payments to an agency, and the coupon certifier department to certify a purchase with a non- winning purchase reservation coupon; the affiliated site system which posts the event information on its service page linked to the event page of the event server; and the user system which participates in the event by assigning a lottery number for each purchase reservation coupon by transmitting to the event server the information on the purchase and settlement of the purchase reservation coupon after connecting to the event server through the affiliated sites or the agency sites, and which sends the information on the non-winning purchase reservation coupon to obtain price , cut-offs when purchasing goods from the agency's or affiliates' web sites.
2. In claim 1, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services allows an agency system to request for the holding of a joint event by sending information about it to the event server, and the event server builds the joint event by combining several agencies which meet the conditions after analyzing the requested information from each agency system.
3. In claim 1, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services has an event server that acquires personal information from the purchase information on the purchase reservation coupon from the user system and registers the user as a member of the affiliated sites where the user is connected.
4. In claim 1, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services allows the event server to set up the closing conditions, and to close the event by changing the size and the closing time in accordance with the degree of participation.
5. In claim 1, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services features affiliated sites system and agency system that includes the coupon confirming department which verifies the purchase reservation coupon with information obtained from the user system through the event server when a user purchases goods by means of the purchase reservation coupon, and the settling department which settles the price of goods by discounting using the purchase reservation coupon.
6. In claims 1 or 5, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services features the event server which manages the information on the purchase reservation coupon to restrict its use only at the agency which holds the event.
7. In claims 1 or 5, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services allows the affiliated sites system to restrict the usable amount of the purchase reservation coupon to a certain degree against the price of goods.
8. Advertising and marketing method for goods through gift-event services over the Internet features the following:
An agency system which requests merchandising by online gift-event to the event server; the user system which participates in the event and the purchase of goods later on using the purchase reservation coupon; the event server system which acts for the agency and manages the sale of goods; and the affiliated sites system and the online settlement system which indicates the event information online and is linked to the event server.
The invention also has the following stages: a stage where the event server builds an event page according to the request from the agency system; a stage to link the event page to the agency site and a number of affiliated sites; a stage to purchase and pay for the specific purchase reservation coupon, connected to the event server through the agency sites or various affiliated sites; a stage to grant lottery numbers to the user for each purchase reservation coupon; a stage to draw lots through a specific method after the closing of the event upon meeting the specific conditions such as the sufficient number of purchase reservation coupons sold; a stage for the agency system to ship the premium to the prizewinner by obtaining his/her information from the event server and settling the price from the reserve fund of purchase reservation; and a stage to allow specific price cut-off per amount of the purchase reservation coupon when a user buys goods with non-winning coupon, information on which the user system transmits to the affiliated sites or the agency sites and is certified by the event server.
9. In claim 8, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services features a stage for indicating the ratio of winning numbers per number of purchase reservation coupons issued and the size of the event to users.
10. In claim 8, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services allows the event server to set up several levels of the closing conditions considering the size and the closing time, and to close the event in accordance to the degree of participation.
11. In claim 8, the Internet advertising and marketing system for goods through gift-event services has a method wherein each affiliated sites may restrict the amount of usage of purchase reservation coupon within a specific ratio against the price.
