- FIG. 7 is a view of the upright supports, a, b, c, d, for the metal tray itself. As the tray will support the computer devices it will also have the outer structure of the shelf attached to it. These upright supports as seen have two differently shaped openings in them to accommodate various cables and wires interconnecting the computer components.

- the IntelliDesk is any desktop computer that has had its internal components rearranged on a prefabricated tray then the tray is inserted into a compartment in a desk, this compartment can be a shelf.
- This arrangement alleviates the tower and places the internal, user accessed devices within reach from the desktop. All cabling, speakers, CD drives, Floppy drives, Hard drives and a surge protector are located within this compartment and the receptacle for peripherals are accessed from within the compartment or at either side of the desktop.
- a separate compartment is used to house the keyboard, mouse and LCD monitor, and this compartment is located in front of the user. Both compartments have different locks, which further help prevent unauthorized access to hardware or data.
Abstract
Using desktop computer components and integrating them into different types of desks. While not changing the computers function or the desks, it simply combines the two.
Description
- The present invention concerns an improvement to, multifunction home and office furniture systems and computer systems by having a novel means of integrating the two items in various types of desks with various types of computers.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide homeowners and business with a computer/desk system that reduces the clutter from behind the desk and the desktop.
- Another object of the invention is to provide homeowners and business with a computer/desk system with an improved security feature.
- Another object of the invention is to provide homeowners and business with a computer/desk system with an increase in accessibility to computer hardware which is used frequently or which is accessed only at times of service.
- FIG. 1 is a view with the various components to make a computer system.
- FIG. 2 is a top view of the aforementioned items.
- FIG. 3 is a front view of the aforementioned items.
- FIG. 4 is a view of the metal tray which the metal supports for the computer devices are attached to. Item E being the support for the surge protector. Item F the support for the floppy disk drive. Item G the support for the cd rom drive.

- The IntelliDesk is any desktop computer that has had its internal components rearranged on a prefabricated tray then the tray is inserted into a compartment in a desk, this compartment can be a shelf. Claims (8)
1. A computer desk system comprising:
A desk for work surface and storage.
2. This desk is none specific to size, shape, style, and storage capacity or as to whether it has a hutch or not. This desk is manufactured using currant technology and materials and purchased as a whole unit prior to refitting.
3. A computer system comprising of at least a motherboard, CD-ROM, floppy drive, keyboard, mouse, monitor and hard drive.
4. This computer system is none specific to size, speed, manufacturer or type of monitor. This computer system is manufactured using currant technology and materials and is purchased in whole or parts prior to refitting.
5. A method according to claim 1 wherein the amount of desktop clutter is reduced.
6. A method according to claim 1 wherein the security of hardware and data is increased.
7. A method according to claim 1 wherein the amount of exposed cables is reduced.
8. A method according to claim 1 wherein the accessibility to frequently used computer hardware is increased.
